. Instead of immediately knocking the door down, a mechanical hand pops out of the ram and simply pushes the doorbell! Goofs When Frank, Jane, and Dr. Simpson , will have to enlist the help of their loose-cannon friend, when Rocco Fred Ward , the deranged terrorist, intends on blowing the annual Academy Awards ceremony to smithereens. As he runs out he notices a sign telling how long the research area went without problems. Quentin hands a huge check to a thug played by producer Robert K. This, the third in the series, still has some great moments, especially towards the end, but can't maintain throughout the same level of hilarity and originality as the first.

Has its moments, but a bit flat after the first two movies. It is only at the end - the Oscar ceremony - that it gets laugh-out-loud funny. He soon enters a room with a window open and a lot of wind starts coming in. Frank starts walking around her place and commenting on how nice it is. Mainheimer is about to publish his report on energy supply for the future.

The machine starts to malfunction, and seconds later, a sharp-toothed gear flies out of the machine and jams itself into the ceiling, just inches from Frank's face. Jane, the doctor's secretary, is Drebin's old flame. Clever, witty dialogue and brilliant sight-gags. To save their industries, the suppliers kidnap Mainheimer and replace him with a decoy with a more favorable report. Ed comes back with a glass of water which he hands to Frank. Outtakes included several scenes of the Control Room Director at the Academy Awards, and flubbed lines by Leslie Nielsen, among others.

At one point a mailbag flies in the room into Frank's arms. Once more, Drebin goes undercover, interrogating dangerous blonde bombshells, and putting his precious, but fragile marriage in jeopardy. He tells him to look out for Quentin and heads for the stage with Dr. The first Naked Gun was great: an hilarious slapstick-comedy. This was especially as far as comedy movies go, as the drop-off in originality and quality is normally quite steep from the original to the first sequel.

Lieutenant Frank Drebbin returns to save the day once again. Overall, entertaining and funny enough, but not as good as the first two movies, especially the first. Weiss, and then cashes it for him right there. Tasting the fruit of his labor with his wife Jane Spencer Priscilla Presley , the maladroit and now retired Police Squad Lieutenant, Frank Drebin Leslie Nielsen , secretly dreams of getting back in action. Thus explains how the next time we see Frank, he's holding an empty cup with money. The remainder of the pages are accurate to the rest of the book. Frank starts to see a blurry image of Meinheimer and thinks it's Earl Hacker the fake Dr.

He spilled the water when he fainted. Meinheimer are in the research area, all wearing hard hats, Frank leans over a railing and his hard hat falls into some machinery. Frank then takes the glass to his lips and winds up fainting in the process. While the two pages are clearly visible, only the top paragraph of the second page 191 is edited to tailor that particular scene, which is read by Dr. Then he spots an actual key which he starts turning and the tank starts idling. Before long, his old partners, Ed Hocken George Kennedy and Nordberg O. Are this year's Oscars doomed to disaster? Slowing the film to frame-by-frame, it's clear that the gear springs down from inside the ceiling, not up from below.

Plus, it would have been difficult to match the originality and hilarity of the first. Meinheimer are in the building that blew up at the beginning, and they walk through the research area where he drops his hat, the scene ends in the movie version with Jane walking away with the Quentin Hapsburg, and Frank standing there. Things don't look good for the traditional suppliers; oil, coal, and nuclear. Admittedly, it wasn't as good as the original, mainly because by now you know what to expect. Their passionate love affair is thus rekindled. For the first 75% or so of the movie it is so-so, with not too many great gags. It is established that Jane lives near a railway station.
