Its elasticity and strength make it perfect for the acquisition of durable items, which is why this fibre is widely used to produce sportswear. Should I even bother with rayon? This step is basically a detangler, prior to carding and spinning into yarn. My damaged skin is finally in love with my bed sheets! But lyocell sounds pretty awesome! If it says you should dry clean then dry clean it. Although it is a little more expensive than cotton or linen, its quality is worth the investment.

Within the solvent spinning process that produces Tencel®, a closed loop circuit recovers, purifies and reuses the solvent up to 99. On the other hand, this fibre is much less toxic than the other types. The feel and texture of the finished fabric is easily manipulated by blending Lyocell with these other fibres resulting in a wide ranging variation. Some use toxic chemicals in these additional processes. Fewer people are familiar with modal and lyocell. The fabric content is 98 percent cotton and 2 percent polyurethane. Note: garments that are 100% lyocell fabric do not use a washing machine or a tumble dryer. It was usually 60% cotton and 40% polyester. However, their properties and characteristics are more similar to those of natural cellulosic fibers, such as cotton, flax linen , hemp and jute, than those of petroleum-based synthetic fibers such as nylon or polyester. Lyocell Fabric: A Lyocell Care Guide

I did not have an issue with ironing this particular shirt afterward. Once ironed, it hangs really nice and doesn't crease much during wear. It seemed dilute enough to not need it. What type of category would the above mentioned fall under? Who decided that moms and dads needed to add a bit more fuss to their lives by making us pay this much attention to laundry? Neither is more durable than the other. Cotton is also a comfortable sheet in terms of warmth, thanks to its breathability, although it is not as absorbent as Lyocell.
